Get your tabs back after the browser closes or crashes
For Chrome and Edge.
Right after closing something by mistake
- Press Ctrl+Shift+T (⌘+Shift+T on a Mac) to reopen the last closed tab or window. Press it again to go further back.
- Or open the menu › History › Recently closed.
After a crash or restart
- If the browser offers Restore when it opens, click it straight away.
- To always reopen where you left off: Settings › On start-up › Continue where you left off.
- Otherwise, search your History (Ctrl+H) for pages you remember.
Never lose them again
Retrace keeps a private recovery timeline: every few minutes it notes which pages are open in each window. After a crash — or when you need the tab you closed an hour ago — open Retrace's Settings, slide back through the day, or search for the page, and reopen it.
- Save important windows as sessions and pin them: pinned sessions reopen when the browser starts.
- Everything stays on your device — the timeline is never uploaded.
